"A card is selected by a spectator and then the index corner is torn off to keep as a receipt. You then show an empty wooden case and place it aside. At this point, you could even hand the case over to the spectator for them to hold. The selected card, with the corner torn off, is then placed back into the deck. With a magical wave over the deck is made and the spectator is asked to look for their card, which they will not find. The magician gestures towards to the empty case and asks the spectator to open it up. Inside is their selected card with a corner missing. The missing corner matches exactly the corner the spectator is holding.
